Between the city's oldest landscaped park and the hilly surrounding countryside, an urban expansion area is being created with housing for approximately 3,000 residents and new sports infrastructure. The site of the abandoned stadium is being transformed into an identity-forming center for the new district. The area will be densified and simultaneously unsealed. The urban planning follows a clear, orthogonal grid in the west, while in the south it follows a more organic system influenced by the characteristic topography. The two worlds meet at a green interface. The blocks on both sides open up to this diagonal green space, which has an important ecological and microclimatic function.
